There's a moment after a diagnosis, yours or someone you love, when the questions pile up faster than appointments can answer them. What does this word mean? Is this normal? Where do I even start?
You don't have to sort it out alone at 2am with a search bar.
The Canadian Cancer Society runs a free, national Cancer Information Helpline staffed by trained information specialists. You can call, use live chat on cancer.ca, or send a question through their online form. They'll take the time you need to talk through treatment and side effects, clinical trials, coping, emotional support services, complementary therapies and help in your community.
It's open Monday to Friday in English and French, with interpreters available for many other languages. And it isn't only for the person with cancer. Partners, parents, adult kids and friends call too.
Sometimes the bravest first step is the smallest one. Pick up the phone and call CCS.
